Sport: Fiji expecting Kumuls backlash

Fiji say Papua New Guinea will be hurting and will be even more determined to win in Sunday's second rugby league test in Port Moresby.

The Bati stunned the Kumuls 26-12 in Mount Hagen at the weekend in an historic victory on PNG soil.

Fiji's General Manager Steve McLellan says they know things wont be any easier this weekend and it's important to stay focused ahead of a potential backlash.

"They'll be hurting and there's certainly a lot of pride playing for their nation. We're most probably expecting that intensity to even last longer - they come out at a million miles per hour at us and we have to withstand that. But all along our focus has been on our preparation - not worrying greatly what they're going to do. It's more about making sure we did our things right and that's been the focus in the preparation."
