Fiji remain atop the IRB World Sevens standings despite losing to eventual winners England in the semi finals in Dubai.

Following on from their opening round win on the Gold Coast, Alifereti Dere's team topped their pool ahead of Argentina and Samoa.

They beat Australia in the Cup quarter finals but fell 19-12 in the semi finals before beating Argentina in the playoff for third place.

Samoa failed to make the last eight and beat Kenya 31-17 in the Shield final.

Fiji lead the overall standings after two rounds, seven points clear of England, with Samoa in a share of ninth spot.
