Call centre training facility in American Samoa abandoned

A call centre training facility in American Samoa now seems unlikely with two companies abandoning plans for such services.

The call centre was to be a joint venture between American Samoa Services Associates Corporation and Pacific Resources Inc, but both have now pulled out.

The owner of Pacific Resources, Michael McDonald, says the deciding factor was the requirement it pay fifty percent of the training costs.

The call centre training project was to be funded with monies remaining from a US Department of Labor grant awarded to American Samoa following the 2009 tsunami.
