Sport: Ex skipper wants to coach Flying Fijians

Former Flying Fijians captain Greg Smith has confirmed he will put his name forward to become the country's head coach.

The Fiji Rugby Union advertised the position last week, seeking someone who has coached a recognised national or provincial team, including proven record of strategic plans for team preparation.

The candidate must also have a thorough knowledge of Rugby in Fiji and its culture, something Smith tolf FBC Sport he can bring as a former players and someone who still holds Fiji rugby close to his heart.

He is currently an assistant coach with Waikato in NZ's ITM Cup provincial comp.
