Sport: PNG drawn with Afghanistan for T20 qualifier

Papua New Guinea have been grouped alongside Twenty 20 darlings Afghanistan for the upcoming world qualifiers in March in the United Arab Emirates.

Sixteen countries from across the globe will feature in the 12-day tournament, from which the two finalists will qualify for the World Twenty20 championship in September.

Papua New Guinea's main rivals in Group A will be Afghanistan, who capped their rapid rise by qualifying for the last World Twenty20 in 2010, Netherlands and Canada.

Two teams the Barramundi's defeated at the World Cricket League Two tournament, Hong Kong and Bermuda, are also in their group along with Denmark and Nepal.
