The police in Samoa are investigating the cause of a car accident which injured five rugby players currently on trial for the upcoming Pacific Rugby Cup tournament.

Two of the players are in a critical condition.

A truck belonging to the Samoa Rugby Union's High Performance Unit, which was carrying a number of players to training, went off the road at Vaoala in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

The driver says he lost control of the vehicle while coming down the hill because the brakes didn't work.
