5:42 pm on 10 January 2012

The police in Tonga are looking for three men in relation to an armed robbery at a petrol station in Kolofo'ou, where a worker was shot in the leg.

The police say the disguised offenders were armed with a shot gun and a pistol when they demanded money from the supervisor and three male employees who were shutting the station at about 11 o'clock on Friday night.

They say the supervisor fought with one of the offenders before two shots were fired at him, injuring his left leg.

The police say no money has been stolen and investigators are working on identifying the offenders.

The injured petrol station supervisor is recovering at Vaiola Hospital.
