People in Fiji are being encouraged to use a new government hotline to report suspected terrorism, sabotage and threats against critical infrastructure.
The Ministry of Defence, National Security and Immigration says it has launched the National Security Hotline as part of efforts to bridge the public service and public awareness gap.
The Acting Ministry head Joketani Cokanasiga says with the lifting of the Public Emergency Regulations, the Ministry is looking for new ways to improve communications with the public and provide them with ways to voice their concerns.
The service also provides a service for people seeking information on specific Ministry services, policies or programmes.
The interim government says the services follow best practices by other governments throughout the world.
