Sport: New Tongan coach to keep it simple

11:10 am on 3 February 2012

Tongan coach Sateki Tuipolotu doesn't believe his late appointment will hinder their chances at the Wellington Sevens, which kick off on Friday afternoon.

The former 'Ikale Tahi international has been in charge for little over a week, following the resignation of Siua Taumololo.

Wellington marks Tonga's first appearance on the IRB World Series this season.

Sateki Tuipolotu says he's tried not to overcomplicate things ahead of their first match against Wales.

"Just following what they have been doing in the past. What I bring onto the team is a bit of fine-tuning and looking at their technical side more-so so the guys can understand what they're actually doing instead of just playing willy nilly. It's about the boys being consistent and the boys giving it their best shot. We'll take each game as it comes"

and prove to the people that we can play sevens and that Tonga is a force in the sevens legs.

Tonga's first match is against Wales, followed by clashes against Fiji and Argentina.
