14 people being held on remand at the Port Vila Correctional Centre remain on the run after escaping on Tuesday night.
15 got out of the facility and one has been recaptured.
Police say the group had been remanded a week ago in relation to a number of break-ins at private addresses and government offices.
Police have asked residents in Port Vila to take precautions to ensure their possessions are safe.
They have also issued a warning to girls to take extra care, to avoid going out alone or staying out late at night because some of these inmates are suspected sex offenders.
