Sport: Tonga still searching for maiden PRC win

11:21 am on 19 March 2012

Tonga A are hoping to round out their tour of Australia and NZ with a maiden Pacific Rugby Cup victory in 2012.

Tonga's only competition points to date have been from a draw against the Brumby Runners, in a match which was abandoned because of rain.

They take on the Highlanders development side in Dunedin this evening, following losses to Blues and Crusaders development teams.

Coach Isitolo Maka says it's been a challenging tour form the team but some individuals have impressed.

"There's a couple that's really stood up in the last couple of games. I think there's some that will probably make the national team for Pacific Nations (Cup) but for the team it's just really disappointing."

Also on Monday night Samoa A round out their tour of New Zealand against the Hurricanes development team in Porirua.
