American Samoa trying to curb underage drinking

1:11 pm on 16 April 2012

The American Samoa governor Togiola Tulafono says training is ongoing to ensure people are complying with local laws dealing with underage drinking.

Togiola says more and more vendors are being cited for selling beer to persons under the age of 21.

He says training is strongly emphasised because under age drinking is one of the major challenges and problems faced by the government every year.

The governor says shops, vendors and their workers are not working closely with the government to stop the problem.
