Samoa Rugby Union makes Stephen Betham head coach

7:17 pm on 16 April 2012

The man appointed assistant coach for the Manu Samoa rugby team earlier this month, Stephen Betham, has now been made head coach after Australian Adrian Thompson turned down the job.

The Samoa Union says the appointment comes after Mr Thompson not was able to meet its requirement that the head coach reside in Samoa.

Meanwhile the union has appointed a new manager for Manu Samoa, Namulau'ulu Sami Leota, who held the position for the Pacific Rugby Cup and Samoa's Under 20 teams.
