Nadi business tries to recoup losses in flood sale

12:50 pm on 24 April 2012

Nadi businesses are trying to recoup some of their losses selling flood damaged goods in a town-wide sale this week.

The town was one of the hardest hit by recent floods in Fiji.

Dr Ram Raju of the Nadi Chamber of Commerce says the town's local customers are saving rather than spending and he's appealed to out-of-towners to take advantage of the cheap goods.

"Mainly damaged clothes, shoes, and other items. There's also some electrical items, throughly checked by the owners and I've had a good look around myself to make sure they're all in fairly good order before being sold to the public."

Dr Raju says the flood sale will continue until the end of week
