The Solomon Islands government has told the Festival of Pacific Arts organising committee to watch its spending.
The festival is to be held in Honiara in July.
The last festival board meeting on Monday revealed that the budget allocated by government was already more than half spent.
14 million US dollars in public money is being provided for the two-week event.
