The winner of the Parties to the Nauru Agreement's World Tuna Day Art and Talent Quest is Ongerong Kesolei from Palau.
She won the 3 thousand US dollar first prize for her short story called Tuna, A Fish With
A Special Place In My Heart.
It tells the story of her life from childhood to motherhood and as an adult growing into middle age, and how tuna has always been a staple food and part of her lifestyle in the Palau capital, Koror.
A short film will be made to dramatise the story.
Two runner up prizes of 1000 dollars each were awarded to short story writers from Solomon Islands.
