Pacific Island trade officials are being called on to make more progress on key issues in negotiations on the PACER Plus deal which could lead to a single market across the region.
Trade Ministers meeting in the Marshall Islands at the weekend say there are six priority areas where they would like to see speedy progress.
These include labour mobility, rule of origin issues, customs procedures, sanitary and phytosanitary measures and development assistance.
The ministers have directed the officials to hold more informal sessions to try and resolve sticking points on these matters, with the first of those meetings to be no later than this July in Vanuatu.
