Saipan Air expects to add 50,000 tourists a year

The Northern Marianas flag carrier, Saipan Air, expects to bring in an additional 50,000 tourists to the territory and inject up to 100 million US dollars into the local economy a year.

The airline, which will have its inaugural flight on July the 1st, will initially provide daily flights to Narita in Japan and a four times a week service to Beijing in China.

From August, Saipan Air will offer daily flights to Osaka and thrice a week flights to Shenyang, China.

Saipan Air will use a Boeing 757-200 for the Narita, Beijing, and Shenyang flights while operating a Boeing 737-400 for the Osaka link.

Saipan Air also plans to fly to Nagoya, Fukuoka, Hong Kong and Taipei.
