A newspaper in the Northern Marianas reports that police in Washington state are holding a man considered a 'person of interest' in the disappearance of two girls in the territory nearly a year ago.
10-year-old Faloma Luhk and her nine year old sister, Maleina, were last seen near a bus stop on May the 25th last year.
The Saipan Tribune reports that Alan Santos Aguon, a former firefighter, is being held at a county jail in Washington on allegations of domestice violence.
Mr Aguon had earlier been named by the territory's former police chief, Ramon Mafnas, as the Department of Public Safety staffer who had refused to undergo a lie detector test in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of the Luhk sisters.
