Samoa parliamentary delegation in China for study tour

A parliamentary delegation from Samoa has joined other parliamentary colleagues from the Pacific for a ten day study tour to China.

The study tour, according to Samoa's government is to help MPs understand China and the Central Committee of the Communist party.

The Samoa delegation includes the parliamentary speaker, Laauli Leuatea Polataivao, the former minister of Police, Leaupepe Toleafoa Faafisi, the leader of the opposition, Palusalue Faapo II, and shadow minister for the opposition's Finance portfolio, Afualo Dr Woods Salele.

A non government media representative and former president of the regional media organisation, PINA, Faumuina Apulu Lance Polu, is also part of the delegation.
