The Oceania and Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships begin this week in Apia, marking the last chance for many athletes in their quest to qualify for the London Olympics.

General Secretary of Oceania Weightlifting Federation, Paul Coffa, says countries are sending huge teams to the champs and says this week's tournament is the biggest Oceania event ever.

He says the men's 94kg division will be of particular interest this week, with Samoa's Commonwealth Games champion Fa'avae Fa'auliuli up against strong competition from Australia and Kiribati.
