Fiji's interim leader Commmodore Frank Bainimarama has been in China's Zhejiang province drumming up investment in Fiji's textile and food industries.

He's attended an Investment and Trade Symposium in Ningbo and visited Shaoxing County where he was updated on plans for Chinese factories in Fiji producing cement and dalo products and investment in iron ore mining and textile production.

Commodore Bainimarama has also invited food processing and fruit companies to come to Fiji to take advantage of available farming land.

During his visit the interim Prime Minister thanked China for being a staunch ally after most of Fiji's friends deserted it following his military coup.
