Samoa opposition wants legal recognition for shadow cabinet

The leader of the opposition Tautua Samoa party is calling for government legislation that will recognise his shadow cabinet in parliament.

Palusalue Fa'apo II's comment is in respone to the Prime Minister saying the recognition of the opposition's shadow cabinet is part of good governance.

Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi spoke at the end of the budget debate in Parliament.

He had also praised the opposition's role during the budget debate for questioning the government's breach of policies.

Palusalue says it is the opposition's role to criticise the government when it comes to matters that affect the economic wellbeing of the people and the whole nation.
