Sport: Scotland expect tough encounter against Manu Samoa

7:40 am on 23 June 2012

Scotland are expecting to be run off their feet in this afternoon's one-off rugby test against Samoa in Apia.

The test marks the first by a tier one rugby nation in the Pacific Island country since 2003.

Scotland have been in good form on their tour of the Southern Hemisphere, chalking up wins over Australia in Newcastle and Fiji in Lautoka.

Scottish prop Moray Low says the visitors will need to be at their best to come away with anything against the Pacific Nations Cup winners on their home turf.

"There will be a lot of running rugby, they like offloads. They're quite a smart team, quite clever, they've got lots of good players we have played against at club level. Their scrum-half likes to have a go at the bottom of rucks and test the defence out there and they've got good steppers. They've got guys that can spot a gap and will take it if the opportunity is given to them, especially David Lemi with his pace and vision so it's a big test and they've shown good form of late."
