Fiji customs investigates gold shipment

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority is investigating a local company that was trying to send 26 undeclared gold bars overseas.

Fiji Village reports, the Chief executive officer Jitoko Tikolevu as saying the export consignment was detained by Customs earlier this week.

The total weight of the gold bars is 2.3 kilograms.

Mr Tikolevu says the company made a false declaration and they are now looking at prosecuting and penalizing the company concerned.
