Fiji's voter registration centres are now open to the public.

FBC news reports that in Suva, registration is taking place at the Suva Civic Centre and the Fiji National University Campus in Samabula.

Registration is also taking place at the Elections Office in Lautoka.

All those 18 years and over are to register and bring along a valid identification.

Some other centres will be opened in other parts of the country at various times for registration.

The registration process is expected to last eight months, leading up to the planned 2014 election.
