The Micronesia Summit due to be held in the Marshall Islands today is expected to discuss initiatives aimed at adapting to climate change.
The Palau President, Johnson Toribiong, and the Federated States of Micronesia President, Emanuel Mori, will join the Marshall Islands President, Christopher Loeak, for the event.
The three Presidents will receive a presentation on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion - a plan for which the Marshall Islands is seeking financing for a site feasibility study.
In addition, a so-called Debt Swap Initiative as a climate change adaptation method being piloted in the Caribbean will be discussed at the meeting.
There will be updates on other climate change mitigation projects and progress reports on installation of renewable energy programs for the islands.
