Fiji to restrict smoking in bars

2:44 pm on 23 July 2012

From the beginning of next year, Fiji nightclubs will have to set aside a designated area for non-smokers.

The Health Ministry has banned smoking in public places, public transport, amusement centres and hospitals.

FBC News reports the Ministry is giving nightclub owners five months to comply and failure to do so may result in legal action.

Some nightclubs already have designated areas for non-smoking patrons.
