Vanuatu PM leaves amid resignation calls over Phocea probe

2:28 pm on 1 August 2012

Vanuatu's Prime Minister, Sato Kilman, has flown to London amid calls for his resignation.

Mr Kilman is reportedly the only person who can comment on investigations into the yacht, the Phocea, detained on suspicion it carried guns and drugs.

The opposition has called for his resignation, if he doesn't discipline two ministers who were allegedly aboard the yacht.

Meanwhile, the Daily Post reports that two unnamed ministers are being sought for questioning.

A Samoan and Tongan national have appeared in court, charged with obtaining citizenship by false and misleading statements, and pleaded not guilty.

They will appear again at the end of the month.
