Members of the Solomon Islands Women in Business Association and Malaita Entrepreneurs Association have completed a financial literacy programme designed to help them manage and save money.

The bank, ANZ Solomon Islands hosted the Money Minded programme in Auki, with the intention of helping communities to improve their financial skills, knowledge and confidence.

According to the Solomon Star, the 22 participants say the format and content of the training was simple, practical and applicable to everyone.

The Chief Executive Officer of ANZ Solomon Islands, Barry Sowman, says the programme is a powerful tool to use within communities and says people from all walks of life can use it to achieve their financial goals, save money and change their spending habits.

The programme is the first of its kind designed specifically for a Pacific audience.
