The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association says the proposed Wages Regulations Order, originally scheduled for today, has been deferred until the process has been completed.
The association has told members in a public notice last month that the date for submissions has been extended.
The Fiji Sun reports the deferral of the Wages Order is to satisfy the 30-day period for submissions on the proposal.
The association says employers will be advised when the Wages Council has re-considered its proposal and when the Minister has made a decision as to whether he will accept the proposals.
