Reports from Fiji say about two thirds of people expected to register as voters have now done so.

The Elections Office has registered just over 400,000 people, with two weeks of the main registration period left.

Some centres are reportedly to stay open for those who didn't register on time.

Elections have been promised for 2014 to replace the parliament shut down in the 2006 coup.
