Sport: Plenty to play for at Oceania 7s tournament

With a World Cup less than one year away, there's plenty to play for at this weekend's Oceania Men's Sevens tournament in Sydney.

Seven teams will be vying to join Samoa and New Zealand at the global event in Moscow next June.

Vinnie Wylie reports.

"Two places at the Moscow tournament are up for grabs in Sydney with Australia expected to battle it out with Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands for the remaining slots. For some countries the chance to grace the annual World Series is also at stake, with places at the Gold Coast, Wellington and Hong Kong legs on the line. Samoa has already qualified for both the World Cup and World Series, so will be using the Oceania event as more of a pre-season hit-out. Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands will kick off the two-day tournament at 11 o'clock local time."
