US Secretary of State meets with Pacific leaders

The US secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has met with Pacific leaders in the Cook Islands.

Secretary Clinton is in Rarotonga at the end of the Pacific Islands Forum leaders meeting.

Megan Whelan reports from there.

The meeting was held at Trader Jacks restaurant in downtown Rarotonga.

After arriving in a bulletproof SUV, Secretary Clinton was asked how she was enjoying the Cook Islands.

"What a place to do it, it's fabulous. I'm afraid half of my team will not want to go onto the next stop."

Secretary Clinton is now attending the Post-Forum dialogue, before bilateral meetings.

She will also attend events, and speak on on Gender, US initiatives in the Pacific, and the Cook Islands.
