Significant interest among youth in Prince William's Solomons' visit

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine, face a busy programme when they arrive in Solomon Islands at the end of next week.

The royal couple will spend a day in meetings and functions in the capital Honiara before flying to Marau Sound on the eastern Guadalcanal coast.

Here they will meet with the local community and stay overnight at a resort before returning to Honiara and flying onto Tuvalu.

Our correspondent in Solomon Islands, Dorothy Wickham, says there is a lot of interest in Prince William's visit, particularly from young people.

"Because of his age and because of the limelight that has been on his life since his mother died then his career and his romances. That is just stuff they see here in magazines, on TV. So it has actually captivated the younger ones so his coming here has caused some excitement, yes."
