The American Samoa Legislature has approved two measures totalling more 300 thousand US dollars to pay separate High Court judgements against the American Samoa Government.

32 thousand 500 dollars is to settle a High Court judgment handed down in 2009 over an accident 11 years ago when a student was injured by a government vehicle near the Pago Pago Elementary School.

The second judgement calls for 296 thousand dollars to settle a breach of contract by the Government when it failed to pay for construction services provided by Pacific International Engineering.

The money for the settlements is to come from the tobacco settlement.
