In Samoa, a nonu buying company, Nonu Samoa Enterprises Limited is taking additional nonu from growers who have an over supply of the fruit and nowhere for it to go.

The President of the Nonu Association and owner of Nonu Samoa, based in Vaivase, Garry Vui, says over the last eight months the company has not had to go out to collect nonu as people have been bringing it into the factory.

The company is paying four US dollars for a barrel which holds about 14 kilograms.
