A seven day awareness campaign is underway in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands to promote suicide prevention.
The group driving the campaign is made up of people representing government, business and NGOs, with most working on a voluntary basis.
The multi-sector group is doing surveys, consultations, and data analysis, plus a special awareness exercise this week ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day on Saturday.
Part and parcel of the campaign is the 'Talk About It' initiative.
This includes an emergency number, the distribution of suicide prevention packs to schools and the wider community, and advertising campaigns.
