Fiji's interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama is calling for an investigation into the prison service.

Four of the five prisoners who broke out of the Naboro Corrections Facility near Suva a week ago were re-captured over the weekend.

Vinnie Wylie reports.

"FBC News reports Commodore Bainimarama saying authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into allegations that the breakout was assisted from within the prison system. He says if it was, then this is a grave breakdown of prison discipline. Commodore Bainimarama has told the escapee still at large, Isoa Waqa that he will be found and urged him to turn himself in. He says anyone who harboured the prisoners, or assisted them in any way, is also in serious trouble. Two people are already in police custody and local media reports investigations are underway into a series of robberies believed to have involved the escapees."
