An investigation into allegations of widespread corruption within the Samoa police force and the main Tafaigata prison has been completed and is now with the Attorney General.

The allegations were raised in a letter to the Police Commissioner and the Minister of Police with a copy sent to the prime minister.

Assistant police commissioner, Leaupepe Fatu Pula, says several senior officers were mentioned in the letter which was why it was handed to Attorney General Aumua Ming Leung Wai for consideration.

Meanwhile, Leaupepe says a female police officer who was forced to leave a domestic violence workshop held in Fiji a week ago has been asked to resign.

Leaupepe says the female officer is alleged to have entered a room used by one of the workshops participants and stole several personal items.
