A police woman in Samoa has lost her job amid allegations she broke into a hotel room while in Fiji and stole a number of personal items.

Corporal Usufono Latu left her duties on Wednesday after the police commissioner, Lilomaiava Suemalo Fou Taioalo, told her to leave the force immediately.

The assistant police commissioner, Leaupepe Fatu Pula, says there will be no criminal charges imposed on the former officer because the alleged offences took place outside of Samoa while Latu was attending a domestic violence seminar in Suva.
