Teachers in American Samoa who have earned degrees and have been waiting for salary increases with their new credentials are due to get them soon.

The Department of Education has just completed the reclassification of all teachers who have attained higher degrees.

Governor Togiola Tulafono says as a result funds remaining in the Department's budget will be used to pay for the salary increases.

Speaking on his radio programme, Togiola says the salary increases for teachers has been confirmed by Lieutenant Governor Faoa Aitofele Sunia, and has his endorsement.

The governor says teachers will now receive salary adjustments in line with their degrees.
