Future of Air France's service to French Polynesia on agenda today

9:49 am on 4 October 2012

A further meeting is scheduled in Tahiti today to discuss the future of Air France's loss-making service to French Polynesia.

Cabin staff have rejected proposals to halve the number of Tahiti-based employees and are also against a proposed roster that would see them be away from Tahiti for up to three weeks.

The French carrier has a total of 116 employees in French Polynesia.

There is concern that Air France could quit flying to Papeete and seek a joint venture as it did on its Paris to New Caledonia route.
