The telecommunications company Solomon Telekom is launching a new mobile tower at the end of the month.
The tower will be established at Numbu in north east Guadalcanal.
The Principal of Numbu, the fastest growing school in Guadalcanal, Fredrick Vava told the Solomon Star that villagers are excited and look forward to improved Telekom services with the launch of the new tower.
He says villagers are happy because they will receive improved mobile phone and internet services which will enable students to stay in touch with their parents.
