Sport: Cook Islands netballers to employ new plan against Scotland

11:37 am on 16 October 2012

The Cook Islands netball coach Mii Maui says if a win comes their way they won't turn it down but improving across the board is their main focus ahead of the tri-series clash against Scotland in Rarotonga on Monday local time.

The home side were outclassed by 30 goals when the teams first met three days ago, and were also well-beaten by Wales last week.

Mii Maui says the other teams are very quick and they've been guilty of trying to match them at their own game, but have worked out a new gameplan.

"I think right now you can say the younger ones are feeling that they can setp up to this game tonight so we are actually going to follow through with that and have a fresh team on for tonight's game. We've looked at how they've position themselves and we've been having a few discussions around that and we've sort of come up with a way to counteract what they've been doing to us."

Following Monday night's match, Cook Islands play Wales on Tuesday, while Scotland will move on to Samoa for a three-test series.
