Sport: Samoa coach looking for progress in Scotland series

10:37 am on 20 October 2012

The Samoa netball coach Marcia Harcastle says the three-test series against Scotland will be a good indicator for how the team is progressing since the Pacific Series.

That tournament in June saw Samoa manage only one win against Papua New Guinea, to finish third behind Fiji and the Cook Islands.

The first test is in Apia today and Marcia Hardcastle says she's pleased with the attitude of her players throughout the week.

"The intensity is still there so the energy is still high. I think some of the players have executed their technical side of their game better alot better so that's looking so much better this time around. I think we've just got to build on where we left at Pacific Series and I've just added a couple of new players in there. Our shooter, probably get a bit more consistent with our shots going in, and we want to look at turning over more ball to play with."

Following today's match, the teams will battle it out again on Monday and Wednesday.
