American Samoa leader meets with his Indonesian counterpart in Jakarta

Economic and trade developments between American Samoa and Indonesia have been discussed by Governor Togiola Tulafono and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Jakarta.

The governor is on a week long visit to Indonesia.

The Governor's office says the leaders exchanged views on joint venture possibilities in fisheries diversification, tourism, e-commerce, and manufacturing.

At the conclusion of the meeting the President announced the construction of a basketball court as a gift to the children of American Samoa.

American Samoa was invited to participate in areas of development, such as technical assistance in agriculture and fisheries, tourism development, education and homeland security, particularly in the areas of disaster preparedness and resiliency.
