Fiji has fallen four places on the global gender gap index.
The index, compiled by the World Economic Forum, looks at national gender gaps on economic, political, education- and health-based criteria.
Fiji, the only Pacific island country on the list, ranks 113th out of 135 countries.
The report says it is one of the five countries from Asia/Pacific region that has closed the gap on the health and survival subindex.
However, it says women still make up a fairly low percentage of the senior and highly skilled positions.
New Zealand is sixth on the list, and Australia 25th.
