The New Caledonian authorities have recognised this year's sports accomplishment of 204 athletes.
The government has issued a statement, affirming its provisions to foster excellence.
It says this means that high performance athletes can get financial support, paid leave to compete and medical support in New Caledonia.
Among the outstanding athletes this year are Mathieu Frei who won the 49er sailing European championship and Lara Grangeon who won two French swimming titles.
