Papua New Guinea's national carrier has confirmed that flights to Manus province have resumed after a blockade of the Manus airport runway was cleared.
On Monday night, locals closed the airport in protest at missing out on contracts related to developing Australia's Lombrum asylum seeker facility.
Canberra is poised to start processing its asylum seekers on the island soon.
The newspaper, The National, reports that the Police operations chief Simon Kauba has warned that people who try to disrupt services at Momote Airport will be arrested, charged and prosecuted.
Mr Kauba said the people who blocked the airport on Tuesday were not arrested because they complied with directives from the provincial administration and police by removing the blockade.
